|---|
The RaceLight is a single GE® halogen headlamp that is powered by a small gel-cell battery. Quick mounting carbon-fiber or injection molded glare proof lamp housings. The battery sits in a small multi-fit padded nylon container. Total weight for the 4 hour system is 1200 grams (2.6 lbs). We won't be talking about other lighting systems. No fantasy formulas, no hype. All we offer is light. A single screaming bright blue-white beam. 23,000 candlepower with very low drain on the rechargeable battery. A fine suggested retail value at 10¢ per gram. |
The racer is supplied with bottom bracket. Available in all standard widths. New XTR (950) splined style is available.
The 130 gram wide flange front hub rides on a 19mm titanium axle with a quick release system built into the left lower fork leg.
The 350 gram wide flange rear hub rides on a stepped 19/17mm titanium axle with a quick release system built into the left swingarm tip. The freewheel cassette body is available for Suntour®, Campagnolo®, or Shimano® cogs.
The cable operated disk brakes are the most powerful bicycle brakes ever produced. Bushido Racing disk brakes have been in limited production since 1986. At 175 grams they are lighter than many cantilever brakes, and with over 250% more swept area - well, everything else stops short.
Front suspension is low-pressure oil damped tele-pneumatic. No rubber cookies. The dual dampers automatically adjust by sensing the riders needs. Optional competition specific suspension components are independently adjustable for both low and high speed, compression and rebound levels. The pneumatic front springs are adjustable for both pre-load and riders preference from a single schrader valve.
The non-conventional headset contains dual 38mm aircraft certified sealed spherical bearings with external lubrication ports. No adjustments, wear, or damage - ever. The front fork assembly, with dual triple clamps, and headset assembly weighs less than 1800 grams (4.0 pounds).
Due to specific performance and safety requirements the Bushido Racer front suspension may not be retro-fit to conventional bicycles.
Rear suspension is controlled by a single full floating pushrod activated oil damped control unit that utilizes automatic valving similar to the front fork. Carbon Dioxide gas is the recommended spring medium - standard bicycle CO2 tire inflators may be used to adjust the rear spring sag/pre-load to the riders requirements. An optional coil spring rear damper unit is available that is adjustable for both low and high speed, compression and rebound levels and spring pre-load (ride height). The swingarm, bottom bracket, control unit, bellcrank, and pushrod weigh 1100 grams (2.4 lbs).
